M.A. Appleby started a journal the day of her son’s accident. That tragedy threw their family into turmoil as they tried to understand brain injury. As a 24/7 caregiver and her son’s legal guardian, she knows how important it is not to ignore your own life, and that is where writing became cathartic for her. That ‘recovery’ journal became her therapy as her son recovered, and she wrote a trio of books called, A Whisper Mystery Trilogy. By the time the third book was completed, she realized it had given her closure. Ms. Appleby now blogs, gives presentations, and lectures about brain injury awareness.
