Rambles in Wonderland; or, Up the Yellowstone

After a trip through Yellowstone National Park in the 1870s, author Edwin J. Stanley set out to write a brief account of his experiences for close family and friends. His "sketches" eventually expanded into a book-length work on the park dedicated "to the lovers of Nature everywhere, especially the youth of the land." Vivid first-person accounts of travels through Yellowstone in the park's first years are paired with more than a dozen original drawings of famous park features.
