Rasmuson Artist Residency Program: Inside Outside
Publisher Description
Rasmuson Foundation launched the Artist Residency Program in 2013, which sends four Alaska artists to the Lower 48 and brings four Lower 48 artists to Alaska each year for 60-day residencies. This program unites eight established residency centers in an exchange-based network. This publication documents the first cohort and their work.
Each residency center in Alaska has been paired with a compatible residency center partner in the lower 48, based on discipline expertise and related factors. They include:
Zygote Press, Cleveland, OH | Bunnell Street Arts Center, Homer, AK
McColl Center for Art + Innovation, Charlotte, NC | Anchorage Museum, Anchorage, AK
Santa Fe Art Institute, Santa Fe, NM | Alaska Native Art Center, University of Alaska Fairbanks
Djerassi Resident Artists Program, Woodside, CA | Island Institute, Sitka, AK
The Artist Residency Program supports the creative growth of Alaska’s artists and arts organizations, exposes Alaskans to new work and creative processes of Lower 48 artists, and introduces Lower 48 communities to unique Alaska perspectives through extended engagements with artists.
