Publisher Description
There was a treaty signed between the IRA and the British government that allowed the self governance of sixteen out of twenty two counties.
The treaty was signed in the year 1921. It was, however, a controversial treaty. The die-hard Republicans demanded the independence of all of Ireland.
A Civil was started in 1922 between the Republicans and the Irish Free State Forces. The Free State forces had accepted the treaty. This is the setting of the present play “Juno and the Paycock.”
