Publisher Description
A breathtaking novel of suspense from the co-author of five No 1 James Patterson bestsellers including Judge and Jury and Lifeguard, and the hit thrillers The Blue Zone and Don't Look Twice
Ty Hauck has left law enforcement for a job with a big-time private security firm. But he quickly learns that life in the private sector can be every bit as dangerous as wearing a badge – if not more so.
When a successful trader at one of Wall Street’s largest firms is murdered his suburban home along with his wife and daughter, it seems at first to be a case of burglary gone wrong.
Then another financial executive is found dead in a very suspicious ‘suicide’. As Hauck digs deeper he uncovers a horrifying financial conspiracy that stretches from New York to Central Europe to London. And its perpetrators will kill anyone who gets in their way…

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Former police detective Ty Hauck, now a partner in a worldwide security company, displays his usual bulldog tenacity in bestseller Gross s sketchily plotted third Ty Hauck novel (after Don t Look Twice). The murders of Marc Glassman, the chief equities trader at an old Wall Street firm, Glassman s wife, and one of their children at their Greenwich, Conn., home affect Hauck deeply. Meanwhile, his boss asks him to investigate shadowy financier Dieter Thibault, who s aroused the interest of a valued customer. Probing the connections among seismic disturbances in the financial markets, Glassman s death, and Thibault s actions, Hauck teams with Treasury agent Naomi Blum only to find their every action anticipated and countered. Against international conspiracies and financial institutions in freefall, Hauck and Blum have to go rogue. Thriller fans able to overlook clich s like wet behind the ears and hit them like a truck will enjoy the fast-flowing action. 6-city author tour.

Reckless
My first Andrew Gross novel and a good one to start with although Ty Hauck's back story comes into it a few times and I felt that it would have helped to explain his character better if I had started earlier in the series. Having said that this is a good read with an interesting premiss, namely that the global economic meltdown of recent years was a deliberate series of events perpetrated by a multinational gang of of financiers hellbent on becoming even more wealthy and powerful. Set against this background there is an interesting story of the results of a personal relationship between two people from several years ago and the action takes in New York, Washington, Serbia, Switzerland and London, although not necessarily in that order! The action sequences are gripping and the characters are well developed which renders them interesting and compelling making them people you want to root for.
If you like intriguing, fast paced, roller coaster rides with true to life characters, both good and bad, then this is a great book to read.
