Regeneration

“So long as there are men and women alive, in a livable environment, then a new beginning is possible.”

Set in a post-atomic world, the story starts with the finding of a strange thing. A ragged small group of men was driving in their tracks, when suddenly they noticed something half-buried in the ground. Their leader was standing above the object, looking at it. Wondering what that might be, one of the men said that it is probably something dangerous, a thing that kills people.

But, he was wrong. It was something else.

One man of the group, Morge, lift the thing from the ground and spat on it. Nothing happened, so he spat on it again and watched in running down the symbol which reminded of a thunderbolt.
