Publisher Description

William Henry Corfield was a store man, carrier and politician, born in Somerset, England. In 1862 his uncle H. C. Corfield visited him and inspired him to search for fortune in Australia. And so, William sailed from England to Queensland in February, 1862, on a ship named “City of Brisbane”, with his old schoolmate George Custard.

William worked for his uncle for six years. He worked with cattle on Stanton Harcourt, where he was overlanding sheep, or managing the Clifton station.

This book is actually a story of his journey from England to Queensland, his beginnings in another country and his colonial career.

It is an interesting book which is partially a biography of the author, giving an overview of his life in Queensland, starting from the very beginning.

So, if you are ready to join William in his journey to the land of fortune, jump in the story and enjoy.
