Publisher Description
Father Calen Owen is responsible for three troubled parishes in English-held Calais. He has too many funerals to attend, too little sleep, and one refuge: the inn run by Acadia Rayne.
Widowed at sixteen, left with her husband's disgrace and a business to keep afloat, Acadia has very little patience for the Church. She makes an exception for Calen. He is kind, hardworking, and in desperate need of someone to tell him to eat his supper.
After a night of too much ale changes their friendship, Calen wakes with scattered memories and a conscience that will give him no peace. Acadia is unwilling to be treated as a shameful secret, whatever she feels for the impossible priest.
With his parishioners depending on him and his vows still binding him, Calen must find an honest way forward. Acadia has decisions of her own to make.
Righteous Path is a short historical love story of faith, desire, guilt, and unexpected affection.
