JASON BOURNE: THE LEANER, MEANER JAMES BOND FOR THE 21ST CENTURY
Bourne is back... and in the crosshairs of every intelligence agency on the planet.
New York Congresswoman Sofia Ortiz has been assassinated – and it looks like Jason Bourne was the rogue gunman responsible.
Ortiz was about to blow the whistle on a scandal that could tie one of the most powerful tech companies in the country to Treadstone, the shadowy government agency that trained Bourne, and to something even more sinister. If he is to clear his name, Bourne is going to have to get to the bottom of the conspiracy Ortiz was killed to protect.
It won't be easy: alone, on the run, with enemies at every turn, Bourne will have to put all his skills to the test – and uncover some new ones.

Best bourne book since identity
I’ll start of by saying I read the 3 bourne books books by Ludlum, but got advised by a friend to skip the lustbader books as they go completely of the rails in terms of quality so I didn’t read them and can’t comment about them. This book acts as a soft reboot for the franchise and I think personally, is far better than supremacy and ultimatum and possibly even identity in many respects. This book never drags and Is easy to follow. While the old books feel like a product of their time Brian freeman does a great job bringing Bourne into the present day with a story that feels pretty relevant with how the world is today. The characters are all really well done even if a certain villain feels like she’s been dragged out of a classic bond film at times. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of Brian freemans work with this series and highly recommend this book.
