One does not break an oath to the fae…
But I am getting much better at finding and exploiting the loopholes. I may have promised the ruthlessly sensual fae lord, Rogue, that he can sire my firstborn child—but I never said when. And I'm not giving into his will-eroding attempts to seduce me until he tells me what will happen to my child.
Which he refuses to do.
So, I'm holding out against his allure, no matter how he tantalizes me, because the one way to protect my child is to make sure they're never born. Unfortunately, Rogue is as wily as he is persistent, and soon I find myself in more bargains—I must give him a kiss every day and sleep by his side at night. Even as I travel through Faerie, perfecting my sorceress skills and seeking the answers to the questions Rogue won't—or can't—answer, he is constantly by my side, working his way through my defenses.
He refuses to let me go. Most terrifying of all, I'm finding I don't want him to…

Surprises, tension and danger
As much as I enjoyed the first book Rogues Pawn this the second book in the trilogy just took me on a fabulous ride ! Yes the world of Fae is a bizarre, dangerous place for mortals but Gwynn is certainly finding her feet. Tied inexorably to Rogue she's indebted to help win a war but Gwynn has her own unique ways of tackling her orders. Gwynn really needs to learn how to bargain because the Fae are wily, tricky and very cunning. It's just too bad that losing to Rogue doesn't quite feel like a bad thing all the time but with him desperate to father her first born child how can Gwynn trust anything he says or does ?
Wow a lot happens in this instalment and its funny, exciting and simply a joy to read. Honestly I just took my time and enjoyed the journey as these glorious characters became fleshed out and indeed new supporting one's added immensely to the storyline. I won't rehash the plot but certain things do become a lot clearer and whilst the ending leaves me wanting the final book I will say that the revelations here definitely still leave something's for the reader to ponder. This slow, build, sensuous romance has surprises, tension and danger so what else could I wish for ? Hmm, the next book obviously !
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
