Umoya ,

One for elephant fans

This story from Sue Hart's "Tales of the Full Moon" draws the reader into the realm of wild Africa. The Web Links give an added dimension that take it beyond an ordinary eBook. These hyperlinks are beautiful photo animations of real animals in the bush with narration by actress and story teller, Rula Lenska, whose voice brings majestic Rumble Drum and his bush friends vividly to life. The authentic soundscape contributes to the ambiance.

Fact and fiction are blended to create "edutainment" at its best, engaging, delighting, informing and inviting the viewer to learn more, and care about elephants and the wild places of Africa. After all, it is the early nurturing of young minds that ensure the protection of wilderness and the natural world.

Good Book

As a child I remember being enthralled by the adventures of Clarence the cross-eyed lion and Daktari which were inspired by the work Sue Hart and her husband did at their animal orphanage in Nairobi.
When Sue published her book Tales of the Full Moon I felt compelled to buy it.
I was not disappointed as I was transported into the midst of nature, the woodlands, grasslands, mountains and valleys with the myriad creatures that inhabit them.
Over the years I have shared these adventures not only with my own children, nieces and nephews but with pupils of a special school where I work.
We all enjoyed sharing the adventures of the orb spider Spinosa. The bush storyteller who divulged her secrets to us of the hidden realm of the living bush stimulating our minds and setting our imagination free.
If you are interested in the real sights and sounds of Africa then this is the book for you.
