On the eve of her wedding day, Angela Sutcliffe was devastated when her Groom, Daniel Chandler was killed in a road accident on his final leave before being deployed to Vietnam. To celebrate his life, his sister Dory, his fiancee Angela and friend Joyce Kennedy decided to celebrate Daniels final wish. All three Medical Sisters joined the Australian Air Force and were deployed to work on one of the three American Medical Ships stationed in the South China Sea.
When Angela assisted Dory, who had been assigned to the Dust Offs (Air ambulance who carried the wounded from the front line.)" she was overwhelmed to discover the carnage of war, first hand. Together they worked to save the lives of soldiers who had been caught in the path of the defoliant spray NAPALM. A chemical used to thin jungle growth.
Doctor Timothy Nicholson was a burns Specialist who worked on one of the land based Hospitals, so when the chopper landed carrying the three badly burned men, Tim was unprepared for the sight of the two nursing sisters and the lengths Angela had taken to keep all three soldiers alive.
