Publisher Description

From New York Times Bestseller, Corinne Michaels, comes a new standalone second chance romance.

One word.

It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and took my heart with him.

That was seventeen years ago.

I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I ever wanted, but my husband betrayed me and I was left once again.

Alone, penniless, and with two boys, I had no choice but to return to Tennessee. He wasn’t supposed to be there. I should’ve been safe. However, fate has a way of stepping in.

This time around, the tables are turned. It’s my decision. Second chances do exist, but I don’t know if we can repair what’s already been broken . . .

5+ stars! Beautiful & breathtaking

To put it simply, this was one of the most beautiful second-chance romances I have ever had the pleasure and honour to read. This is one of those books that make you wish you could give 6 stars and has taken my top-spot of my favourite reads of 2016 so far.

I went in totally blind to this story, but having read ALL of Corinne’s other books I had high hopes. I love her as an author and her writing style is superb. But this book has taken her to the next level in my opinion. It is PHENOMENAL!! It is one of those books which has left an imprint on my heart and my soul and will stay with me, quite possibly, FOREVER!

I want to review this book fully, yet I really want to say the absolute minimum. I don’t think a full review could do this story justice anyway. Honestly, this book is best going in with no expectations and coming through the other end completely and utterly changed!

The story revolves around Presley Benson and Zachary Hennington. They both grew up in the country, in a little town called Bell Buckle, where everyone knows everyone. In their younger years they fell in love, but as much as they (and everyone else) thought were going to last forever; they didn’t. Their lives have taken very different routes and let them down different paths. But for one reason or another Presley comes back to Bell Buckle and their paths cross again. Presley doesn’t want to be back, she’s embarrassed, she’s scared and she’s struggling through reasons outside of her control. When she comes back she knows it’s only a matter of time before she see’s Zach again. She can only hide for so long, in such a small town, when everyone wants to get involved, and Zach’s brother working on Presley’s parents’ farm. And when they do see each other again, things get tricky. There has always been a huge amount of love between these 2 characters – and it wasn’t through lack of love that they weren’t together. But so many years have passed, they are such different people, they’ve both changed and moved on.

“He breaks me apart. He puts me together. He’s my poison and my antidote.”

Zachary Hennington has found his way into my heart, and there he will stay. All of the other characters are beautifully written and are brilliant additions to the story. Can Zach and Presley find their way through their struggles, secrets, demons, the betrayals, the lies, the pain and the regrets? In order to see what happens, I URGE you to READ. THIS. BOOK!!!

This story will take you on a journey. It broke me, I cried and I sobbed. I felt so many emotions reading this book, there is something in here that will hit you and grab you on every level. It yanked my heart out, broke it up, but then magically it stitched itself back together. I laughed, smiled, felt happy and sad, felt anger and confusion…! There are some brilliant twists and turns, with simply wonderful layers in the story to keep you hooked from the very first page to the very last. You will not be able to put this down!
