Anthony Russo is the high school football coach of the Stonedale Stallions. He finds himself coaching his best friend's son, Rex, who is the star running back for the team. When Rex suffers a traumatic head injury, both Coach Russo and Rex are left at the crossroads of their football careers. Coach Russo enlists the help of Rex to Coach the girls' basketball team where Rex not only finds guidance, but also falls for the team's captain, Gina Mariselli.
