She Looks Normal

Alcohol, darkness, and anxiety.

That was my world. That was all of it.

I was rotting from the inside out-numbing what I couldn't escape, drinking myself deeper into the dark.

My lifeline came on four legs. Sheba and Sky-my two loyal, loving rescue dogs-who remained faithfully by my side when everything else had fallen away.

One of them, my beautiful Sheba, would go on to face a battle that would test us all. Even then, she and Sky refused to let me disappear completely-dragging me back from the edge, bloody-knuckled and broken, into the last glimmer of light.

This is our true, raw, unfiltered journey.
