Silence (DS Addison Scott Series #1)
Publisher Description
Anna Willis witnesses her mother’s death and may be the only person who saw the killer's face…
Detective Chief Inspector Robert Ashworth is the first on the case with his rookie partner Detective Sergeant Addison Scott. Robert makes it clear that he isn't happy with his new partner, but can Addison prove herself worthy?
As Addison tries to put the pieces of the puzzle together, she starts to realise that the case is closer to home than she thought. As more victims are found, it becomes clear that a copycat killer is on the loose and that Addison has a choice to make.
Does she want to visit the dark past that she has fought so hard to forget or let a killer walk free?

Good read spoiled by editing
Found myself more and more annoyed by the poor editing and that spoiled the book which was actually an ok read.
Silence.
Does nobody proof read any more? If they do this book is a prime candidate. Every page has grammatical errors, punctuation errors and often misleading narrative . The conclusion to the storyline became obvious about halfway in which, of course, is too late to abandon the book.
Fast paced!
Great concept, I like the merging roads of past and present in this crime story. I’m interested in seeing how these characters and their relationships develop in future books.
Only flaw to bring up is that mobile phones weren’t around in popularity until the mid 1980’s, and even then not with teens, and texting wasn’t invented until the early 90’s. I’d perhaps want to re-write that a touch so the methods of communication fit with the time stamps that are in those chapters.
