Back in high school, everybody thought Shiloh and Cary would end up together – everybody but Shiloh and Cary.
They were best friends, that’s all.
But, somehow, everything changed. Both left town – took different paths – and suddenly it’s fourteen years since Shiloh last spoke to Cary.
She’s been married, divorced, and is back living in the house she grew up in. But when she gets invited to an old friend’s wedding, all Shiloh can think about is whether Cary will be there – and whether she’s dreading or dreaming if he will be . . .
Slow Dance is the story of two kids who fell in love before they knew enough about love to recognize it. And what will happen when they try to make their way back to each other.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
The path to love for the couple in this tender, emotional romance is long—and worth it. In high school, best friends Shiloh and Cary always quietly harboured feelings for each other. But after their one romantic encounter went horribly wrong, they went their separate ways. Now, 14 years later, he’s in the navy and she’s a divorced single mother. And yet, when they reunite at an old friend’s wedding, they discover that the spark between them is still aglow. In her first romance for adults, YA queen Rainbow Rowell crafts a gorgeously evocative tale around these two flawed and relatable characters. While Cary is strait-laced and Shiloh is quirky and artistic, we could sense what has drawn them together since their teen years in a working-class US town. Kick back with this wonderfully bittersweet read.

Amazing - couldn’t put it down.
This might just be the best story I’ve read in a long time! I was hooked on their chemistry from the start and it just was such an amazing read. I saw it listed as Reese Witherspoon’s book of the month and hearing her describe the story I knew it was going to be one I’d love and I absolutely did.
Cary and Shiloh have so much history from school and so much they never said to one another at the time and then many years and a lot of history later and it’s clear there’s more than just best friends between them and it’s all about whether they can get past their history and missed chances and the obstacles that come with him being in the Navy to give a chance on the love they both have for one another and the future they could have. I highly recommend it!
