Snake Walkers won first place at the Los Angeles Black Book Expo, was a winner of the Best Books 2005 Awards by USA BookNews.com, won first place in the Fresh Voices Book Award, was a winner of the Book Award for Best Fiction by Cheryl’s Choice, received the Fiction Honor Award by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, won the Bronze Award in Foreword Magazine’s Book of the Year context and was a finalist in Cushcity’s 2006 Best New Author’s Award.
