Mystery
When Maia’s life is threatened Ben comes through. She’s a data scientist and he’s a detective, they’ve been hanging out casually. A body appears ( like it does) in a Mardi Gras parade . There’s lots of depth to the story however as he’s only one of a string of Baker boys who work on some force or other. Whatever is amiss with this crime case ,means their relationship status holds for another day… plenty going on and engaging throughout . I was hesitant at first I must admit but having read this author’s work I was remiss. Well crafted story, great characters and solid back stories. Scenes were set perfectly too.
