Annie Fellows Johnston (1863–1931) was an American writer, mostly known for authorship of juvenile fiction. She was known for having read all of the books in her school library. After graduation from University of Iowa she worked as a teacher for three years. That is where she received a thorough knowledge of children’s mentality that was vital for writing children’s fiction. Her most notable work is thirteen-book-length series of children’s novels opened with The Little Colonel. Johnstonn’s first book, Big Brother, and became a solid basis for her further successful career. Her novels are sincere and naïve, just as its target audience – little children with little knowledge of ways this world works.
Songs Ysame is a collection of poetry b Annie Fellows Johnston and her father, Albion Fellows Bacon. A true gem of classical American poetry that leave anyone interested indifferent.
