Delivering retribution with a smile!
Rick has been staying in the Lake House with the team, he is there whenever Roman is, which is quite often since Roman's partner lives there. He has a mission, to give the men healthier food though he refuses to tell anyone why. All they really know about the man is that he and Roman have been lifelong friends and now work together. They also know he seems to be a health freak and appears to have a very big crush on Spence.
Spence wants to know more about this mysterious young man and after seeing the sheer horror on his face a few moments after receiving and reading an email he is even more determined. Spence and his friends are ex SEALS, they miss nothing and they are incredibly protective of anyone they consider friends or family. To them Rick is a friend, he will be protected no matter what, now they have to work out what they are protecting him from.
For fifteen years Rick has been surviving, knowing the day would come when he couldn't run any more. He wasn't expecting to have a team of ex SEALS having his back, or having to reveal his truths to them. There is no disgust, hate or judgment from any of them when they hear his story, only a determination to find all those who caused him pain and suffering when he was too young to be able to defend himself against them.
This also means that Spence, who is equally besotted with Rick, insists the other man will not be leaving his sight, meaning he goes on their mission. It transpires that was an excellent choice, they are looking for a missing girl, a 14 year old. Rick's experience tunes him in perfectly and he becomes a huge asset. At the same time the team manage to do their own work on his case and you'll love the results.
Another excellent Fire Lake story. Strong characters, fantastic camaraderie, a growing family of men all of whom love, care and protect with a fierce passion. Love and action combine in the best possible way.
