SPF Languages: The Pelinguist 2016

On Tuesday 28th June 2016, A-Level and IB modern language students from across Year 12 in the Stephen Perse Sixth Form convened and collaborated to create the annual multilingual newspaper. The project features a variety of original student articles, exploring topics of interest regarding either their native country or country of the language they are studying, outside of the curriculum. This year, the Pelinguist has published a extensive and engaging range of material - from native recipes to political commentaries to fashion pieces, there is something for everyone!


The day commenced with a group debrief of the day’s schedule. One of the initial challenges was coordinating such a large group of students and synchronising the activities of different language groups. As a student-orientated project, the Pelinguist is created by students and run by students. Such independence is simultaneously both liberating and daunting but creates a more personal end-product.
