Kennedy’s Thomas Aquinas and Medieval Philosophy is a wonderful history of the philosophy of the 13th Century, its influence on St. Thomas Aquinas, and vice versa.  By no means an exhaustive treatise on the subject, Kennedy’s history is a concise (>90 full length pages) introduction to the influence of Aquinas on medieval philosophy.
