STEM Reflections

Stem Reflections leads the reader through the STEM project -Making mirrors. Students go through the process of creating a wooden frame and fitting it with a self-created silver-mirror, exploring the application of Pythagorus’s theorem and the Tollen’s reagent reaction to real world contexts. Students are challenged to problem solve by designing a methodology of evenly applying a liquid to a flat surface and explore wood staining with everyday household products.

The outcomes of this project align to the Australian curriculum, providing a tangible product that students can share with family and friends.
