Publisher Description
Another carefully edited and formatted work from the author of "The Subaltern", George Robert Gleig who was diverted to Europe immediately on returning from the disastrous Battle of New Orleans. This version was originally published in the USA in 1847 and has been translated from American into English. The story begins with the preparations for the campaign and continues through the occupation of Paris and the abdication of Napoleon. Gleig himself (or the publishers) introduced a number of errors into the text. For instance, General Ziethan was portrayed variously as "Zeiten" or "Zieten" and this is one oversight that I have chosen to correct.
