Strip Search

Superbly paced and super sexy!

In the minds of some there is no line between being a dancer and a stripper. Others are thankfully more open-minded and that is exactly what we find in Strip Search - some people with open minds, prepared to listen, care and love.

Dakota has danced since his about 4 years old, ballet, tap, street... He has done every form of dance there is, dedicated his heart and soul to it, to his dream of becoming an aerialist, a dancer in some of the top Vegas shows, but to get there is a challenge. He needs to save money, for the pro aerial dance classes he wants to take, and for rent and of course to make ends meet. Having moved out of home now he is old enough and to escape his abusive father there is rent too. Glitter Boys is a means to an end though he can't deny he loves to dance there he hates the owner-manager Yuri who comes close to abusing him at various points through the book. Yuri is a shady character, obsessed with Dakota and determined to have him, for his pron shows and ultimately for himself.

But Dakota knows he can do better, wants to do better and when his brother runs away from home all he wants to do is find the young boy. At his wits end he tries a shelter only to arrive during an incident, a stabbing. Fearing his brother was in there, could have been a victim he is taken under the wing of Patrol Officer Reed who is at the scene. When they go inside relief that Donny is not there and is not the victim, plus the sight of blood on someone whose arm was caught in the fray are all too much and he faints. Into Reed's arms.

Days pass. No Donny. Dakota thinks he may have found another job only to be suddenly sacked for no reason. But there is a reason. Yuri has found him, attempts to attack him, the police are called and Patrol Officer Reed is there again, saving Dakota and finding himself irresistably drawn to the younger man though he is only in his early 30s to Dakota's early 20s he is a divorced father of a teenage girl. He is also, finally, telling himself the truth about his bi-sexuality which is allowing him to admit his attraction to Dakota and to act on it.

What follows is angsty: the pair are still having to dodge Yuri whilst trying to find something to pin him with that will get him behind bars. They are searching for Donny, to find him and then have to battle with the care system and they are finding out if their instant attraction, their growing love, is the real thing. Believe me, the way that Morticia Knight describes their interactions, their encounters, Dakota's infinite patience, charm, desire for the hot and hunky Reed, it is all real, deeply real. Reed feels the same way towards Dakota who is opening his eyes to so much and their love grows despite the world around them trying to put up hurdles.

You probably realise that with Donny found and the two men realising what they have is real, there is a HEA but it is not one without incident and we are kept on our toes with this story, it is superbly paced, captivating, sexy, hot, funny, cute and simply oh so very, very good.
