Publisher Description
Felicity's no ordinary teen matchmaker...she's a cupid!
Felicity Walker believes in true love. That's why she applies for a gig at the matchmaking company Cupid's Hollow. But when Felicity gets the job, she learns that she isn't just a matchmaker...she's a cupid! (There's more than one of them, you know.)
Armed with a hot pink, tricked-out PDA infused with the latest in cupid magic (love arrows shot through email), Felicity works to meet her quota of successful matches. But when she bends the rules of cupidity by matching her best friend Maya with three different boys at once, disaster strikes. Felicity needs to come up with a plan to set it all right, pronto, before she gets fired…and before Maya ends up with her heart split in three.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Seventeen-year-old Felicity is excited to find a job-her first-at Cupid's Hollow, a matchmaking service in her hometown of Cleveland, but has no clue she's actually signed on to be a cupid. She is given a magical PDA to create profiles for her high school peers and to email potential matches, sending them into involuntary two-week love dazes ("much better than the bows and arrows of yesteryear," says her boss). Since Maya, one of her best friends, is too shy to date, Felicity decides to launch "Operation Hook Maya Up." Going against Cupid Hollow's rules, she emails three different guys to ensure one good match; all three are instantly infatuated with Maya. Felicity quickly gets in over her head when she realizes that managing the matches she has made, witnessing some of them fail, suppressing her lust for her own crush, and attempting to reignite her parents' relationship is more than a full-time job. Sitting squarely in the realm of teen chick lit, Stapleton's debut is a light and mildly entertaining read with occasional insights into puppy love. Ages 12-up.
