Praise for Lynsey James

'… I loved that Lynsey made me so invested in the characters – not just Ava, all of them. They all have their quirks and their flaws; they made me laugh, they made me cry and they made me want to scream at my Kindle. That marks the sign of fantastically real characters.' – Jenny in Neverland

‘A feel-good…contemporary romance with a difference. Lynsey’s writing style kept me captivated, right to the very end.’ – Reviewed the Book

‘Just the Way You Are is one of those books which shows if you find love, or are secretly in love then shout it out loud, fight for it, and never let it go… It's a beautiful little story with an ending that was sublime.’ – Book Addict Shaun

‘a breath of fresh air. Lynsey James has a flare for writing captivating characters, and has produced a wonderful debut novel.’ – Into the Bookcase

A bit awkward...

This book is a good chick flick read, very romantic and is well written. Personally though I found the characters, particularly Ava, absolutely insufferable. She wasn't believable to me, nor were her friendships or relationships with others. I like escapism books, being realistic isn't all that important reading a book but I found this a little far fetched to the point of being cringey.

Do not waste your time

I've read a lot of chick lit over the years and can honestly say this is one of the WORST books I've read. The 'mystery writer' is obvious from the first few chapters (this is an assumption as, for the first time in my life, I couldn't be bothered to finish the story).
The main character is so two dimensional and it's impossible to relate to her and her stupidity; she's never at work and is always eating cake at tea shops (for me, a major annoyance is at one of the many tea shop visits, she ordered a cup of tea then proceeded to sip and spit out her coffee, which she later refers to as tea.. grrr! A lack of continuity of this kind screams 'lack of giving a toss about what's being written'
All the other relevant (irrelevant!?) characters in the book are horrifically stereotypical, shallow, mostly pointless and used as page filler.
Sorry but, honestly don't waste your precious time, and even if you don't consider it precious, don't waste it here!

Roller coaster!

A short but gripping story of true love! A roller coaster of emotions in one sitting - I was angry, sad and outraged all at the same time! Great read!
