Hiring an escort to keep me company seems like a creative way to make the time pass faster. And boy, does Alex help me forget about my troubles. He's sweet and smart, and I'm more hooked on him with every passing hour. Then reality comes crashing in, and I’m afraid I’ll lose him forever.

An utterly beautiful love story
When is the penny going to drop? That was the question running through my mind after Jerome opens the front door to the beach home and invites Alex in. Why? Well I suppose I may be getting ahead of myself a little so let's rewind.
Jerome is taking a break from his job as assistant director at the encouraging of his boss. In fact the whole crew is taking a break. The lead actor broke a leg and fliming just wasn't working. The problem is when a workaholic, a single workaholic takes a break, staying in his boss's boss's house it is hard to relax. Until Jerome decides to cave in and book an escort for the evening. He isn't planning to go anywhere, he just wants some company.
Company arrives in the form of Alex who was about to go on a break of his own but has interrupted it to help his friend who runs the escort agency. There is no doubt that he is just what Jerome needed. The massage he offers to destress Jerome is even better and when that leads to the offer of a cuddle, and it is a genuine offer too, things begin to heat up. Alex wasn't planning to stay the night, Jerome wasn't planning for him to and when that night turns into a swim on the beach, breakfast, showers and well another day and then another Alex is more than happy to stay and shuns every attempt of Jerome's to talk about money.
And that is why I found myself wondering when the proverbial penny was going to drop. Gabbi Grey is very good at hiding the truth behind the words she writes. After all we don't want to know too much too soon. We get to know the two men first, have a chance to watch as their dynamic clearly unfolds before us, see the ways in which Alex becomes part of Jerome's life, see the ways Jerome finds himself loving it and realizing what he has been missing. And when that proverbial penny does drop...? Well I will let you discover what happens but I will say that this is an utterly beautiful love story, funny, gentle, kind, completely absorbing and heartachingly romantic. I loved every single word and I might be very much in love with Jerome and Alex too!.
