Publisher Description

Herbert George Wells (21 September 1866 – 13 August 1946) was a prolific English writer in many genres, including the novel, history, politics, and social commentary, and textbooks and rules for war games. He is now best remembered for his science fiction novels, and Wells is called the father of science fiction. His most notable science fiction works include The Time Machine (1895), The Island of Doctor Moreau (1896), The Invisible Man (1897), and The War of the Worlds (1898). Wells's earliest specialized training was in biology, and his thinking on ethical matters took place in a specifically and fundamentally Darwinian context.

The book “Text Book of Biology, Part 1: Vertebrata” is avowedly written for examination purposes, and in conformity with the requirements of the now familiar "type system" of teaching. The author followed the purpose of imparting instruction in natural science by letter.  It will appeal to anyone familiar with the scope of biological enquiry, and the methods of biological instruction. Get ready for the unusual immersion to the world of science!
