Publisher Description
First published in 1929, Tintin in the Land of the Soviets did not again become available to the general public until 1973. This first great Tintin adventure introduced the brave reporter and his dog, and set the stage for the rest of Hergé's career as a master comic strip author.
The colour in the new version of the story has the effect of increasing legibility, as it underscores the clarity of the drawings. The new version was created by Moulinsart with great attention to the restored original plates; the result is surprisingly modern, like a new adventure.
The official return of Tintin in the Land of the Soviets will happen the day after the reporter's 88th birthday and also during the centenary of the October Revolution.

Must read this
An average digital treatment for Tintin's beginning.
While not Hergés finest work, Land of the Soviets provides an excellent glimpse at the beginning of the Tintin adventure. The recolourisation of the original book helps bring the story to life and is a must read for any true Tintin fan. However, as with the average story; the same could be said for the iBook version. Rather than taking the time to create an 'enhanced' version (like with Game of Thrones or Harry Potter), the book is basically a PDF version of the comic book. No special interactive treatment has been applied which is disappointing to a diehard Tintin fan. Overall, the plot is average for a Tintin story and the digital treatment is barebones. I hope future Tintin books receive a better effort. (3 stars for the story, 2 stars for the iBook version).
