Enter the world of Holly Well Springs… where the Christmas spirit lives on.
The stone turned dark at midnight.
For fifty years, the Well has glowed white and steady—proof that the sacrifice I made was worth it. I chose this town. I chose to guard its magic. And in doing so, I walked away from the only man I have ever loved.
I told myself it was enough.
Holly Well Springs flourished beneath the Well's light. Broken hearts healed. Families were born. Christmas lived on in a world that desperately needed hope.
But when that single stone blackens in my hand, I know the truth.
Alex has found us.
The war we thought we left behind in the fairy realm is no longer a memory. It is here. And this time, he isn't after a throne.
He's after the home I vowed to protect.
Michael returns when danger rises—just as he always has. Seeing him again after decades apart steals the breath from my lungs. Our love never died. It simply waited… buried beneath duty, beneath destiny, beneath everything we believed we owed our people.
But love does not make war disappear.
When I am taken to force Michael's surrender, I finally understand what this battle will cost. It will not be won with strategy alone.
It will require sacrifice.
The next generation stands ready around the Well—stronger than we were, braver than we expected. The town we built refuses to fall.
And for the first time in half a century, I must choose:
Will I fight only as Protector?
Or will I fight as the woman who still loves her king?
Because this time, we are not defending a realm.
We are defending our forever.

The Battle Begins
The latest story in this series continues with the fight to save the Well and includes Jesse and Belle’s love story. There is more background to how Sachee became protector of the Well and the introduction of the love of her life. Thrown in was the introduction of Nix, a cheery little bird who originally belonged to Sachee. This adds a bit of lightheartedness to balance out the darker parts of the story.
The characters draw me in and I felt for the decision which Kris and Christine would have to make regarding their future.
It really does sound like the next generation are becoming key characters in the series as the older ones step aside. I just don’t know how the boys will manage without their grandparents. There is also the enigma surrounding their parents to be resolved too.
The whole story is so beautifully written and I love the way the characters one by one find their true love.
I can’t wait for the next story in the Holly Well Springs series, I love this series and the books always finish with me wanting the next.
