The Blossom

Dram Mercy and his twelve year old assistant, Jeri, are ordered to Katseye, a foreboding desert world on the fringe of the known universe. They are the new caretakers for The Blossom, an isolated, fortified church built to withstand the seasonal onslaught of bloodthirsty aliens. Dram thought he was to provide spiritual strength to the colonists and workers, but he soon discovers there is more to the position. The Blossom tells Dram's story as he unravels the inherent danger of being passive in a world where one wrong step is guaranteed to take one's life.
