Samuel Griswold Goodrich was an American publisher and author of children’s books under the pseudonym of Peter Parley. Largely self-educated he was also a bookseller and publisher at Hardford and later in Boston. In 1828 he published for 15 years an illustrated annual, the Token, to which he was a frequent contributor both in prose and verse.
