A world on its own
There is something incredibly attractive about learning about how law and crimes are dealt in jurisdictions readers might be not so acquainted.
I liked the mix of details between characters, the prison system and the delicate balance between judges and attorneys. What works in one County is abhorred in the next one. And all the unusual facts about places which might be not so big but can feel pages and pages of facts and anecdotes about certain people and the families which are against each other.
At times I got confused by the number of cases but often little references helped to connect one case to the other.
But such peculiarities are proof of the ability of the author in building a book with so many people and places without making anything the same as each other.
Enjoyable
I enjoyed this story but I wasn’t happy with the ending.

Beautifully written, kept moving through the history and lives of the characters without slowing down, awesome book
