The burning secret
This cleverly written novella is ripe with fin-de-siècle morals and mores. Told in the third person, the central person of the story turns out to be a twelve year old child learning, with difficulty , about the adult world. It is an easy and entertaining read, with a little twist at the end which puts you in mind of that other great Viennese of the period, Zigmund Freud.
