Publisher Description

The continent of Australia was shaped by fire. In the time when Aboriginals controlled the land, they farmed it using fire which reduced the bush overgrowth while at the same time flushed their animal prey from their hiding places. The environment was in balance with both the animals and the humans thriving for countless generations.
Then came the white races who forced the retreat of both the Aboriginals and the animals they depended on for their living. When nobody cared for the bush environment, it became overgrown with the debris of nature and of human use such s logging. This gave birth to the wildfire, propelled by the hot breath of the uncontrollable bushfire wind.
The animals who lived on the edges of towns shared the same dislocation and terror that the the humans experienced. The story traces how they fared when faced with the demonic wildfire. Some animals did quite well, but some perished in the flames. The story ends where destruction by the bushfire is followed by the renewal of the environment.
