Put simply, to short. It just gets going and then, it ends.

Needs an ending
I understand that it's meant to be a short story but there is nothing to it. It is good as a beginning to a story and sets up quite a good storyline but it needs to have an ending.
It doesn't survive as a short story, it lacks a storyline.
