his is not an easy book to read, but it is an incredibly important one. Paul Mason’s account of his childhood is heartbreaking and, at times, difficult to stomach, but his bravery in sharing such raw vulnerability is nothing short of heroic. It is a powerful story of survival against all odds and a searing look at the failures of those meant to protect the innocent. A deeply moving 5-star read that stays with you long after the final page.
