Harvard professor Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call while on business in Paris: the elderly curator of the Louvre has been brutally murdered inside the museum. Alongside the body, police have found a series of baffling codes.

As Langdon and a gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, begin to sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to find a trail that leads to the works of Leonardo Da Vinci - and suggests the answer to a mystery that stretches deep into the vault of history.

Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine code and quickly assemble the pieces of the puzzle, a stunning historical truth will be lost forever...

Pretty good

Worth reading.

It's good, but there's better out there...

Bought this for my iBooks collection as it's still a great yarn. However, on second read, whilst Dan Brown may have popularized this genre I do feel that others are now beating him hands down...

If you want all-out action in this vein then you'd be better off with Scott Mariani, if you're looking for a highly intelligent and innovative plot line that's brilliantly written, then check out Adrian Dawson's "Codex" and if you're looking for typical DB fare done a whole lot better then it has to be Simon Toyne. As such, three stars because I have to reserve the fours and fives for those who really are giving me great reads at the moment.

Good film, even better read

Of course, Tom Hanks is pictured in my mind as the main character. That's where it all ends though. What a read. Every day life, errands, work, shopping were just getting in the way of this novel. I just wanted to not do anything but read this book. Having spent £4.99 for the pleasure,,I can say it was money well spent. I'd recommend this book. The story grips right from the start and never let's go. Go on... Give it a go!
