The Devil's Elixir - Vol. 2

E. T. A. Hoffmann was a German Romantic author of fantasy and horror, composer, music critic, draftsman and caricaturist, who is considered as one of the major authors of the Romantic movement. His stories were very influential during the 19th century, and nowadays they have became the base for popular operas, ballets, theatre actions and movies. 


'The Devil's Elixirs' is a novel by Hoffman initially published in 1815 and represents an author's adaptation of the novel 'The Monk' by Matthew Gregory Lewis. The plot goes  around a Capuchin monk that gets tempted by the Devil.
