Intriguing and rewarding
If there ever was an iPad equivalent to your clever "coffee table art book" – the one that says "I am a discerning, well-travelled individual" in a quiet way, that would probably be it.
A book dedicated to doors is an intriguing idea, but you quickly get caught. From Oxford to the huge door carved in a barrel in SW France, from NY to London, you may well start looking for unusual doors yourself.
I found the text and the layout very crisp and engaging and you can only agree with the previous reviewer who wrote "don't be fooled by the price". Good things happen to those who take the less travelled roads, and this little gem of an e-book is what you find if you take the time to look.
Thanks, Monsieur Charlie Fellowes, for sharing this with us.
Interesting and informative
Old and new buildings are brought to life with excellent photography. These lovely buildings and entrance ways are all around us yet we mostly fail to really stop and appreciate the design and thought that has gone into them. There are lots of interesting cross references throughout. Look forward to future editions.
