Good short story
The Emperor's Soul is a lot shorter than Sanderson's other books but it's very reasonably priced and still a good read. The pacing is good and characters are just developed enough to carry the story though it's not really a journey of self-discovery. The mechanics of magic are as usual different from the norm but well constructed and intriguing, though it would have been nice to learn a bit more about bloodsealing and its practitioners.
This could very easily have been a much bigger story, and it would be great to see the author write a full length epic set in the same universe.
