A heartwarming story by the much-loved Rosamunde Pilcher.
Virginia Keile has a secret dream. To have a second chance at loving the tall, handsome Cornish farmer she met - and foolishly lost - the heady summer she was a debutante. Life has taught Virginia a great deal in twenty-seven years - about wedding a titled bachelor picked out by her mother, about a lonely marriage that ended in her husband's accidental death, and about nearly losing her children to her husband's mother and bossy Nanny. Now she has come back to picturesque Cornwall to rent a battered seaside cottage. For herself and for the children. And to discover if this time she can fill an empty house with love.

Great for the beach/holiday
After having a very ROUGH few months at work -- I needed a story to help me escape from work and this story did it. I appreciated the flow of the story and how characters developed. After this I went on to get more of Rosamunde Pilchers books for my next holiday. Thank you for writing stories to help me ESCAPE from my day to day stress!!
The Empty House
Could not even finish Chapter 1 due to the lack of agricultural knowledge/research by the author. 1. You don't cut hay with a combine you use a mower. 2. Combines do not produce bales, balers do. 3. You don't pile bales into stooks. Piling up like that was done with crops before balers were invented! Disappointing!
