APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
This legal blockbuster revisits Mitch McDeere, hero of The Firm— last seen on the run from the Mob. He’s now a married father-of-two in Manhattan and partner at the world’s largest law firm. When Mitch is given the job of persuading the Libyan government to settle its debt to a mega-bridge construction company, it sets off a sinister chain of events. His Italian associate is taken hostage by ruthless gunmen, who prove they mean business in gruesome style. Mitch must raise the ransom money and bargain for his colleague’s safe release—a task further complicated by his friendship with her terminally ill father, the volatile situation in Libya and the West’s refusal to negotiate with terrorists. When Mitch’s wife Abby is approached by the kidnappers and their twin boys are threatened, the case gets even closer to home. Is there a link to the money launderers who Mitch outwitted 15 years ago? Can he protect his loved ones while staying one step ahead of his foes? A propulsive, globetrotting narrative is played out in private jets, five-star hotels and tense conference rooms. A riveting ride with the added nostalgic frisson of catching up with characters who feel like old friends.
Customer Reviews
Disapointing
Can't see Tom taking an option to reprise Mitch in this one, rather boring and nowhere to run to!
Predictable
It started off with great promise but the plot was so predictable .
Oh dear.
It’s cheap because it’s not a good book.
