A blistering courtroom drama featuring The Lincoln Lawyer's Mickey Haller from the master of the genre.
In tough times, crime is one of the few things that still pays, but even criminals are having to make cutbacks. So for defence lawyer Mickey Haller, most of his new business is not about keeping people out of jail; it's about keeping a roof over their heads as the foreclosure business is booming.
Lisa Trammel has been a client of Mickey's for eight months, and so far he's stopped the bank from taking her house. But now the bank's CEO has been found beaten to death - and Lisa is about to be indicted for murder . . .
Great Read. Michael Connelly hits another read out of the park.
Where do I start? I got really engrossed in this book. Lots of detail, and Micky Haller the best type of lawyer with human frailties, and a client that I wasn’t sure of initially but ended up rooting for.
However I did not see all the twists and turns coming. I had it all sewn up in my mind just who was the guilty party and why , while Michael Connelly skilfully weaved his tale and then boy oh boy how wrong was I?
Thus is a superbly well written book.
one of the best.
a great book as usual from Michael Connelly.
Another great read
Perfect Mickey Haller storytelling. The author keeps a fast pace as the story develops into a Bolero style crescendo to a page turner of an ending. Great courtroom drama and investigative work by the Haller team and perhaps book 5 Mickey and Maggie will reunite. That’s my next read.
