The Fireman
Very interesting concept and story. Harper is brilliant and the fireman himself who I loved. Does go a little longer than it needed to be, but still a great read.
Thin Plot, Strung Out
The story has an interesting concept for the armageddon genre but the author fails to exploit on this. Instead the prose labors around the main character’s descriptions of inconsequential feelings. The overall effect is to be frustrated at the lack of progress in the story. It was a struggle to maintain enthusiasm and I ended up hoping for a quick end to the main character, which of course does not happen.
