A story about an alcoholic on a spiritual journey, or a spiritual guy on an alcoholic journey. Contains sex, drugs and rock and roll, but none of these things are what the book is about.

Fooling around with various spirits
An interesting tale of a young man in London being pulled various which-ways by wine, a woman, and song, in the sense of spiritual singing or magick. The author gives a good feel for life in London of a 30-something who's not caring too much for climbing the career ladder. Been there myself, but not to the extent of the protagonist, who is on the cusp of love for a woman who happens to be the daughter of the head of a magic society. As such, he gets caught up in its internal politics and rivalries, particularly when his boss turns out to also be an initiate also and who uses him for nefarious ends.
Overall, a good read, but I did think the ending sort of fizzled out without resolving too many plot elements. However, you should judge for yourselves.
