The Gift

Written as part of the Advent Story Train 2022 by Ari Meghlen, where twenty four authors were given the prompt 'The Gift' and asked to write a thousand word flash fiction story and post it during advent. 'The Gift' by Chris Harvey is written as diary entries, and tells of a lonely recluse in the late 17th century who finds an injured dog in the woods. He takes the dog home and cares for him, nursing him better. But was that the right thing to do?
