The Grammar of Ornament

The Grammar of Ornament was written by British architect and designer Owen Jones in the mid-19th century and is still in print today. Jones' theories on color, pattern and ornament were widely read by members of the Arts and Crafts Movement and became key principles of design in the decorative arts they produced.
